And since the guy a few down never got back to you... soldering tips.
-Don't be afraid to use more flux (I use liquid, though I know there are other kinds)... it helps the solder flow much, much better.
-when your iron tip starts to get black and the sponge just isn't cutting it, a sal ammoniac block will clean it right up. Clean soldering iron makes for happy and clean solder! (I'm a dork, please excuse me)
-there are many ways to solder (tinning first, etc.) but I've found that going slow and steady with a full bead the first time around leaves little room for clumping solder.
I hope that may help, and that I haven't been too intrusive.
